Hajj: The Pillar of Unity and Submission

The Light of Forgiveness and Spiritual Renewal

Hajj, one of the five fundamental pillars of Islam, is not only a religious obligation for those who are physically and financially able, but also a life-changing spiritual journey. Each year, millions of Muslims from every continent gather in the sacred city of Makkah, dressed in simple white garments, leaving behind status, wealth, and worldly identities — to stand equal before Allah (SWT).

This once-in-a-lifetime experience reflects the true unity of the Ummah, reminding us of the equality and brotherhood taught by the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). In a world that often highlights differences, Hajj is a living symbol of togetherness, humility, and faith. It is a time to reflect deeply on one’s purpose, seek sincere forgiveness, and renew devotion.

Beyond rituals, Hajj softens the heart, clears the soul, and brings Muslims closer to the essence of Islam — peace, obedience, and compassion. For many, it is the most meaningful moment of their lives — an opportunity to return spiritually reborn, committed to righteousness and service to humanity.

With Tawhid International, your journey to Hajj is handled with sincerity, care, and respect — ensuring a smooth and blessed experience every step of the way.

1. Intention & Ihram

Begin with niyyah (intention) in your heart and enter into the sacred state of Ihram before crossing the Miqat.

  • Men wear two white, unstitched pieces of cloth.

  • Women wear modest clothing and follow proper Hijab.

2. Tawaf (7 Circuits of the Kaaba)

Upon entering Masjid al-Haram, perform Tawaf around the Kaaba seven times in an anti-clockwise direction.

3. Sa’i (Safa and Marwah)

After Tawaf, perform Sa’i — walking and running between Safa and Marwah seven times, just as Hajar (AS) did in search of water for her son.

4. Mina

Head to Mina, the tent city, on the 8th of Dhul Hijjah. Spend the night in worship and pray shortened Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, Isha, and Fajr prayers.

5. Arafat

On the 9th of Dhul Hijjah, proceed to the plains of Arafat. Spend the day in prayer, du’a, and seeking forgiveness. This is known as the Day of Arafah, the most sacred day of Hajj.

6. Muzdalifah

After sunset, travel to Muzdalifah. Collect 49 small pebbles for the Rami. Pray Maghrib and Isha combined, and spend the night under the open sky.

7. Rami (Stoning of the Devil)

On the 10th Dhul Hijjah, perform Rami at Jamarat al-Aqaba by throwing 7 pebbles. This symbolizes the rejection of evil.

8. Qurbani (Sacrifice)

Offer Qurbani (animal sacrifice) to commemorate the devotion of Prophet Ibrahim (AS). This also marks the celebration of Eid al-Adha.

9. Hair Shaving/Trimming

Men should shave (preferable) or trim their hair. Women cut a small portion equal to a fingertip’s length.

10. Tawaf al-Ifadah & Sa’i

Return to Makkah to perform Tawaf al-Ifadah, followed by another round of Sa’i.

11. Rami (2nd Day)

On the 11th of Dhul Hijjah, return to Jamarat and throw 7 pebbles at each of the three pillars — repeating the Rami.

12. Stay in Mina

Return to Mina and spend the night in worship, prayer, and reflection.

13. Rami (3rd Day)

Repeat the stoning ritual on the 12th of Dhul Hijjah, throwing pebbles again at all three pillars.

14. Tawaf al-Wida (Farewell Tawaf)

Before departing Makkah, perform the Tawaf al-Wida — the final circumambulation of the Kaaba, bidding farewell to the sacred city.
